Queridos familia/amigos/seguidores,
Our summer working in Seattle is flying by and, while we're focusing on saving for Season II - Bamboleiro goes to the Carribean, we miss sailing an aweful lot. This is the video of the backyard boats we made so when the wind blows in the afternoons here, we get little taste of sailing. The blue boat is Cristina's and mine is green.
As you can see we're still pretty excited about sailing. We've been planning and stocking up on supplies, maps and equipment to bring back down to El Salvador with us. On October 12th we'll fly from Seattle to Mexico City, then we'll transfer onto a smaller plane and jump to Guatemala City where we'll taxi to the bus station, spend the night in their hotel and depart at 0530 on the 13th. That evening we'll be back to Bahia Del Sol where we'll hitch a ride out to Bamboleiro. We'll get her back into sailing shape and head out. Our plan is to build and install a dodger/bimini then head SE, first to Costa Rica, then Panama where we'll try to cross through the canal. Just thinking about it gives me shivers of anticipation. Stay tuned come October for the beginning of Season II.
